The SBA sponsors the Women-owned Small Business Federal Contract Program, to give women-owned businesses in certain SIC codes access to government contracts. These codes have been selected because there is an under-representation of women-owned businesses that receive contracts in these industries. There are two classifications: Women-owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-owned Small Businesses (EDWOSB).

Information about the Women-owned Small Business Federal Contract ProgramThe SBA's 8(a) Program provides mentoring, procurement training and management training to minority and disadvantaged businesses to help them compete for federal prime contracts. Eligible businesses must have been in business at least 2 years, be large enough to be able to fulfill a prime contract, and have services or products that the federal government obtains through bids.
Minority means Black American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian Pacific American, or subcontinent Asian American. If you are not within these groups but feel you are disadvantaged, you must describe how you are disadvantaged on the application.
